Synopsis
The Ottoman siege of Constantinople reaches a decisive stage as Sultan Mehmed employs innovative strategies, including transporting ships overland to the Golden Horn, while facing internal debates over his bold moves. Within the city, tensions escalate as disagreements between Constantine, Francesco, and Notaras weaken morale, and Genadius exploits the chaos. The betrayal by Demetrios, who secretly allies with the Ottomans, further destabilizes the Byzantine resistance. As Ottoman cannons relentlessly pound the city's defenses and Mehmed strengthens the siege with diplomacy, the final attack begins, forcing Constantine to confront both internal treachery and the overpowering might of the Ottoman forces.
